Hip Hop Dance Instuctor- MAYO.
At our last Caught Being Good assembly we were lucky enough to have a special visitor attend "Seantum Rapana….. AKA Mayo!"
Mayo worked until recently at Countdown supermarket in Pukekohe. He is now a dance instructor and choreographer at Groovit dance school, the school where he started his training in 2011.
He takes classes of 8-16 year olds, and teaches hip hop, popping and locking and robotics. He has a certification in Maori Performing Arts, and he lives and breathes hip hop dancing.
Some of you may remember and recognise Mayo from making the grand final for New Zealand Got Talent in 2013.
Mayo also represented NZ at the Hip Hop World Champs last year in Las Vegas in the solo dancers class.
Here is some photos of students from our school dancing with Mayo and a link to a video of Mayo in action.

Rice Crackle Slice
At the end of term 2 Whaea Hoki did some baking with her ESOL students. The students enjoyed baking the crackle slice as much as they enjoyed eating it.
Maori Language Week
As part of Maori Language week Room 14 made yummy fried bread with Miss Smith and Whaea Hoki. The students said that the fried bread tasted just like normal bread you buy from the shop. They all agreed that eating the bread was the best part!
