Ambury Farm.

The middle syndicate classes had such a  lot of fun at Ambury farm when they visited.

Rock On

Thank you to our Social Worker Mata for organising the Rock On Climbing wall for the senior school students so we could work together as a team.

Leabank Fun Run

It was great to see so many happy students and supportive parents at school cheering for the Leabank School pupils.  Your teachers, as well as your parents, are so proud of you all for getting out there and giving it your best. Well done everyone!

Old Mac Donald Farm Visit.

The junior and middle school students learnt so much about the farm animals and enjoyed being allowed to hold, feed and pat the animals.

Parent's Open Morning

What a great turn out of family members - mums, dads, step-parents, uncles
and grandparents .  It was a lot of fun having you join in with our class activities.

The murals are looking good.  I can't wait to see the final products!

ROCK UP!

Rock climbing is really cool, in fact it made me conquer my fear of heights.

The first thing we had to do was read all twelve rules together. Next, Geoff
gave us 20 seconds to get into groups of 3.  I was teamed up with Kyrah-Lee
and Jackson.

Once Geoff had shown us what to do we had to go and work together to put
our harness on. Kyrah-Lee told me that I could go first, so I put on the harness.
When I was climbing I was so scared that I was going to fall, but luckily my
teammates were cheering me on and supporting me by shouting out good
compliments.

If we did something wrong like not doing the harness properly we would have
to do 5 push ups and my team did not want to do that, so we tried to not to do
anything wrong and tried hard to follow all the rules. When one person is
climbing you can not go on the mats, only if you are the one who is climbing.

My team got three turns each and Savana’s group got seven turns.  I really
enjoyed climbing and conquering my fears. My favorite part was when Geoff
taught us how to abseil. I was not afraid because it looked easy at first, but
then when I actually had to do it, it was so scary that I didn't want to let go,
but I had to.

I  had soooooooooo much fun that I would love to do it again. I had the best
day and I have learnt that if you are afraid of heights you can give it a try
anyway and have fun!

Room 16's beautiful Tivaevae inspired piece of art. Designed and hand sown
by the students. Many thanks to Mrs Kung, Mrs Deacon, Whaea Raewyn and Eva

Kids Can Crazy Dress-Up Day

Today the school celebrated Kids Can with a Crazy Dress-Up Day theme.
These students from Rm16 came to school with their crazy hair and wacky
clothes and helped raise money for Kids Can. We had mismatched shoes,
backward clothing, spray painted hair, curls, twirls, hair ties, business ties
and shimmering eyeliner! They all looked fantastically CRAZY!
